Dear Leaders,

When I sat down to write this letter the words of the great Bob Dylan echoed in my mind, “for times they are a changin

Thinking this would be nice background music, I pulled up the track and started to write. I was raised in a musical family and have always understood music as a metaphoric representation of current events and an echo of timeless wisdoms.

Dylan first released this track in 1964 in response to the social unrest of the times, mainly the violence and activism associated with the Vietnam War and the Civil Rights Movement.

Dylan calls people to action by singing:

Come gather 'round people wherever you roam
And admit that the waters around you have grown


Then you better start swimmin' or you'll sink like a stone,
For the times they are a' changin'!


Don't stand in the doorway don't block up the hall
For he that gets hurt will be he who has stalled
