About Rebel + Connect

Pervasive is the sometimes subtle and sometimes outspoken advice
that we must compromise our core values and sacrifice the fullness of our lives
in order to align with the endless "shoulds" of the professional world in order to succeed.

We innovate our technology, our marketing, our investment strategies,
but too often we fail to acknowledge the importance of investing in the people and the cultures
that serve as the foundation of our global societies.

While some workers step in line,
others in larger and larger numbers are rebelling.

These shifts connect people to
work-life harmony, schedule flexibility, and location independence.

Smart leaders and progressive companies
from all over the globe, across industries, and in varying stages of development
are starting to pay attention.

More common is the presence of
remote roles, remote teams, and fully distributed companies that give organizations access to
global talent pools, increases in productivity, and major reductions in overhead costs.

However, when you look closer and dig deeper,
you will begin to realize that this movement is much more meaningful than that!

It's the human spirit screaming out,

"Enough!

I want a meaningful life that drive and inspires. That's not a selfish desire.

I want to wake up every day and contribute to something that matters, with people that matter.

I want the work I do to celebrate our humanity!"

And so...

Rebel + Connect is here at this time with deeply personal and pressing global motivations.

The truth is...

Teams are not co-located or distributed; people are not co-located or remote.

They are what they've always been:
communities of living, breathing people doing things that matter,
and this is something worth celebrating.

At Rebel + Connect we encourage remote leaders to create cultures of meaning
by cultivating rebellion, harmony, adventure, impact, and connection using custom retreats.

Founders' Story

We are three women

connected by our rebellion from workplace conventions,

our love for adventure, and our commitment to humanity and this amazing world.

Our free spirits

allowed our paths to cross and friendships formed.

Our dynamic and meaningful friendships

grew into a partnership, and Rebel + Connect was born.

Our ever-evolving story and connection

would not have been possible if we had stayed inside our comfort zones and played by the rules.

What I Do

I am the Director of Travel at Rebel + Connect. My work with remote team leaders allows them to gain insight about where to travel and what to do once they arrive.

As a leader it’s important to know:

  • Where your team is willing and able to travel.
  • What sort of travel experiences and cultural immersion will add to your team’s retreat.
  • That expanding the worldviews of your team members will enhance teamwork.
  • That exposure to diverse cultures inspires servant leadership within your organization.

Why I Do It

Being part of the Rebel + Connect leadership team allows me to share the magic of travel, elevate and ignite the passions of each team member, and enhance the harmony of remote team cultures.

Where I Come From

Before joining forces with Summer to build Rebel + Connect, I held many different travel and hospitality related roles including: Ambassador for WorldVentures helping with the production and execution of events as large as 20,000 in attendance; Ski Instructor in Beaver Creek, CO with Vail Resorts and Mount Buller in Victoria, AUS; Independent Travel Photographer; Mission Trip Leader for Hug It Forward; Co-Founder of Project K1; and Co-Founder of Art in the City: a Children's Summer Art Experience.

I earned a BS in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, a BA in Fine Art Photography, and am a certified Pranic healer.  In 2015, I was named Volunteer of the Year for the Americas by the WorldVentures Foundation. These experiences have taught me that travel is less about fancy resorts and tourist attractions and more about servant leadership and responsible global citizenship.

I was born and raised in Atlanta, but have identified as a nomad for most of my adult life. I was almost 29 years old before I paid rent at the same address for a full year. I have visited Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Spain, France, England, Italy, Netherlands, Vatican City, Canada, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Haiti, Jamaica, Mexico, Cayman Islands, Bonaire, Ghana, Malaysia, Thailand, Australia, 34 of the 50 states and, and South America and Antarctica are the only continents I have yet to visit.

I believe in the importance of connecting to the creative spirit of the inner child. I believe in creating and cultivating joy any chance we can. I believe in the fulfillment of the self in order to fill others. When we brighten our own flame within, and all of us come together, we burn as a bigger, warmer, more luminous flame than we ever thought possible.

What I Love

I celebrate my life by connecting with family and friends, nature, speaking my truth, leading with my heart, attending burns and music festivals, exploring the ocean through scuba diving, skiing, snowboarding, horseback riding, and practicing monkey kung fu, yoga, and meditation.

What I Do

I am the Director of Events at Rebel + Connect. My work with remote leaders allows them to figure out the how and when details of event planning process to ensure a seamless event experience for everyone involved.

As a leader it’s important to know:

  • How to budget your time while still creating purposeful and powerful experiences.
  • How to promote and maintain a culture of work/life harmony.
  • About the differences in others' perspectives, beliefs, and upbringings.
  • How to maintain effective communication at every stage of the retreat planning process.
  • How to capture the memories that your team has built.

Why I Do It

Being part of the Rebel + Connect leadership team allows me to contribute to the harmony and balance of the larger community by creating a space where our clients and their team members can unwind and experience the good life.

Where I Come From

Before joining forces with Rachel to build Rebel + Connect, I held many events-related roles including Event Presenter for Fiske Planetarium, Event Leaders for Boulder Snowboard Group and CU Snowboard Team, Office and Event Manager for High Country Tours, Promotional Specialist and Team Lead for companies such as Bolt Agency, Too Far Independent Media, 24 Seven Inc., Better Promos, and Three Olives, Founder and President of the Boulder, CO chapter of NORML, and Regional Manager for Dixon Golf.

I earned my BA in Science, Society and Technology.  I hold a certificate in Technology, Arts and the Media and am a certified life and leadership coach. All of these influences have taught me that event planning is an art and a science and when managed correctly, events have the power to enhance people's lives.

I was born in Atlanta and raised in nearby Tucker, GA.  In 2005 I moved to Boulder, CO.  I have lived in Arvada, Dillon, Avon and Denver.  I have traveled to Scotland, England, Italy, Germany, France, Monaco, Vatican City, Spain, St. Thomas, Virgin Gorda, St. John, Antigua, Mexico, Canada, the Bahamas, and I have visited 37 of the 50 US states including Hawai'i and Alaska.  Next stop: Japan!!

I believe that travel experiences and the practice of work/life harmony empower people to improve their quality of life! My passion for travel and desire to seek out human connections with other remote workers is what led me to become a Co-Founder of Rebel + Connect.

What I Love

I celebrate my life by traveling, spending time in nature, playing with photography and astronomy, listening to music, pursuing education, snowboarding and adventuring in the backcountry, and taking part in humanitarian service. My best friend Bode, the most lovable pitbull on Earth, joins me whenever possible.
